Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Technical Manager – Blueberries to lead all agronomic and technical aspects of blueberry cultivation, from establishment through full production. The role is hands-on and strategic, responsible for optimizing yield, fruit quality, and production efficiency across protected and open-field systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all technical and agronomic operations related to blueberry cultivation.

• Develop and implement planting, irrigation, fertigation, and pruning programs aligned with best practices.

• Manage substrate-based systems (pots, cocopeat, peat blends) and soil acidity control.

• Monitor and optimize nutrient programs, water quality (pH, EC), and root-zone health.

• Oversee pest and disease management (IPM programs) with minimal residue and export compliance.

• Manage protected cultivation systems, including climate control and misting systems.

• Supervise plant health, and early-stage growth.

• Coordinate harvest timing, fruit quality parameters, and pre-harvest protocols.

• Work closely with operations, logistics, and export teams to meet market specifications.

• Train and supervise farm technical staff and field teams.

• Maintain detailed technical records, yield forecasts, and performance reports.

• Ensure compliance with GlobalG.A.P., GRASP, and other relevant certifications.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 7–10+ years of hands-on experience in commercial blueberry production.

• Proven experience in high-yield, export-focused operations, preferably under protected cultivation.

• Strong technical knowledge of substrate cultivation, fertigation systems, and water treatment.

• Experience with hot or arid climates is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with international varietal programs and plant performance evaluation.

• Practical knowledge of IPM, residue compliance, and export quality standards.

• Ability to lead teams and train local agronomists and supervisors.

• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred / Advantageous Experience

• Experience in Latin America, Morocco, South Africa, or Peru blueberry industries.

• Hands-on knowledge of tunnel systems or equivalent.

• Experience scaling plantations from establishment to full maturity.

• Exposure to fresh and frozen blueberry supply chains.

• Travel allowance and annual leave
