Softscape Design Mastery – Session 3: Softscape Materials, Installation Techniques & Maintenance Practices is a practical online training session designed for students, landscape enthusiasts, horticulture professionals, architects, and gardening entrepreneurs who want to understand the real-world application of softscape design in India and UAE landscapes.
This session focuses on the essential materials used in softscape projects, including soil, mulch, compost, lawn, ornamental plants, shrubs, groundcovers, palms, and other landscape elements. Participants will learn how to select suitable materials based on climate, site conditions, water availability, and maintenance requirements.
The class will also cover important installation techniques such as soil preparation, planting methods, spacing, mulching, irrigation support, lawn establishment, and plant placement. Special attention will be given to practical differences between Indian tropical/subtropical landscapes and UAE arid/desert landscapes.
In addition, the session will introduce key maintenance practices required to keep landscapes healthy and attractive, including watering schedules, pruning, fertilization, pest and disease monitoring, seasonal care, and sustainable maintenance planning.
