The Plant Nursery In-Charge is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring the healthy growth of plants, maintaining inventory, and managing staff. The role requires strong horticultural knowledge, operational efficiency, and the ability to maintain high-quality plant care standards.
- Supervise and manage all nursery activities including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and pest control
- Ensure the health and quality of plants, trees, and shrubs in the nursery
- Plan and monitor propagation schedules and seasonal planting programs
- Maintain inventory of plants, seeds, fertilizers, and gardening supplies
- Coordinate procurement of materials and liaise with suppliers
- Manage and train nursery staff, assigning daily tasks and monitoring performance
- Ensure proper irrigation systems are functioning effectively
- Monitor and control pests and diseases using appropriate methods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery premises
- Prepare reports on plant stock, growth status, and operational activities
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field
- Minimum 3β5 years of experience in nursery or landscaping operations
- Strong knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and pest management
- Ability to manage a team and work under pressure
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management
