About this role:

  • Nursery Operations Management
  • Manage all nursery operations, including plant production, maintenance, and dispatch activities.
  • Develop production plans aligned with project requirements and business objectives.
  • Optimize the utilization of nursery resources, infrastructure, equipment, and manpower.
  • Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plant Production & Quality Management
  • Oversee the cultivation and maintenance of trees, palms, shrubs, and ornamental plants.
  • Ensure implementation of best horticultural practices and effective plant health management.
  • Maintain high-quality plant stock that meets project specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor and control pest, disease, and weed management programs
  • Inventory & Procurement
  • Manage plant inventory, nursery materials, and consumables.
  • Ensure accurate stock records and timely procurement of nursery requirements.
  • Minimize wastage and optimize resource utilization.
  • Team Leadership
  • Lead, supervise, and develop nursery staff to achieve operational targets.
  • Allocate resources effectively and monitor workforce performance.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Promote sustainable nursery practices and safe working procedures.
  • Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, consultants, and suppliers on plant requirements and deliveries.
  • Provide technical support on plant selection, availability, and maintenance.
  • Ensure timely supply of quality plant material to projects.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
  • Prepare operational, inventory, and production reports.
  • Monitor nursery performance, costs, and resource utilization.
  • Support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:

In addition to all job-specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Basatin health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible for familiarizing themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Khidmah HSE department regularly updates existing and introduces new policies, procedures, and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.

  • Information Security responsibilities:
  • Comply with Basatin Information Security Policies
  • Be aware of and fulfil their information security responsibilities
  • Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information has taken the Security Awareness Training
  • Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
  • Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
  • Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
  • Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Forestry, Landscaping, Plant Science, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Horticulture or Nursery Management is preferred
  • Valid Driving License is an advantage.
  • 8–10 years of experience in horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, or commercial nursery operations
  • 4–6 years of experience in nursery management, plant production, or horticultural operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of horticulture and nursery operations.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong focus on quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Budgeting, inventory management, and cost-control capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and nursery management systems
